Squire’s is an expanding family owned group of 16 garden centres located in the West London/Surrey area, employing over 950 people.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join our in-house Payroll/HR team with this very varied and hands on role, in a friendly environment.
Supporting the HR team with all areas of Training, Recruitment, payroll and HR functions. You will be comfortable working in a multisite role, in a very busy HR office.   
Full time, 40 hours Monday - Friday  08:30 - 17:30 (will consider 4 days, salary pro rata)
HR Administration:
  • Ensure compliance with sensitive and confidential information in accordance with the provisions of GDPR.
  • Support HR team with investigations and disciplinaries administration.
  • Support team with recruitment for all areas of the business.
  • Support team with Training administration.
  • Support team with all activities necessary to process the payroll.
  • Ensure HR files are up to date.

Who we are looking for:
  • 4 years’ experience in HR, ideally in a retail environment.
  • Good ability of all Microsoft applications especially Word and Outlook.
  • Strong excel experience.
  • Clear and concise communication (oral and written).
  • Ability to work with pace.
  • Previous experience with Dayforce preferable. 
  • Organised, self-disciplined with a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Ability to deliver high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations
  • High integrity ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to self-manage working with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service, professionalism and courtesy to our employees at all levels.

  • Employee Discount – 50% in Restaurants and 20% in Garden Centre on joining, increasing to 25% after 2 years’ service and 30% after 5 years’ service.

  • RHS Membership or a Tree / Shrub – After 1 years service Squire's employees can choose either one tree or shrub to plant each year up to the value of £50 retail on the anniversary of your engagement or £50 towards RHS annual membership.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – After 2 years service employees are eligible to join an EAP, that gives them access to a range of wellbeing resources, etc.
  • Retirement – After 15 years service if you are retiring and have over 15 years service, your contracted hours will be reduced by a fifth but your pay will remain the same for your final 3 months.
